Conn Smythe Trophy Odds: Sam Bennett Leads Connor McDavid in Stanley Cup Final MVP Race
The 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Finals have had a thrilling start through the first three games. The Florida Panthers took a 2-1 series lead at home in Game 3, dominating the Edmonton Oilers 6-1.
Currently, the Conn Smythe Trophy, awarded to the MVP of his team during the entirety of the playoffs, has Florida's C Sam Bennett as the betting favorite at +125 odds. Bennett is the total goals leader during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, lighting the lamp 14 times for the Panthers.
Last year's Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Connor McDavid, has the second shortest odds behind Bennett at +290 odds. Sergei Bobrovsky is fourth at +1200 odds.
Three of the four favorites in this futures awards market are members of the Panthers. Oddsmakers are bullish on Florida heading into Game 4 at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday night.

Conn Smythe Trophy Odds
Sam Bennett (+125)
Florida's 2025 Stanley Cup run has relied primarily upon Sam Bennett to finish possessions in the offensive zone. He was acquired from Calgary, along with Matthew Tkachuk, during the 2020-2021 season.
Until now, Tkachuk stole the spotlight. Bennett's blend of finesse and physicality encapsulates Florida's identity. He's scored five goals in the last four games for the Panthers.
Bennett has four more goals (14) than Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl (10), which is why odds have shortened to +125 in the Conn Smythe Trophy futures market. This includes leading with 10 even strength goals, third in shots on goal (60) and fourth in total points (20) through 20 playoff games.
Bennett to win the 2025 Conn Smythe Trophy at +125 odds warrants a full unit wager.
Connor McDavid (+290)
Connor McDavid is likely experiencing deja vu after finding his team down in the Stanley Cup Finals against Florida. We've seen some immaculate goal scoring and dekes from McDavid during the playoffs, showcasing his world-class speed and stick handling ability.
McDavid leads all players with 31 points and 25 assists in the postseason. He's also the shots on goal leader (72) ahead of Game 4 in Sunrise, Florida on Thursday night.
We saw McDavid win the 2024 Conn Smythe Trophy despite losing Game 7 at Amerant Bank Arena. The chances of this happening again are very slim though, especially with a lopsided Game 3 loss.
If the Oilers can even the series at 2-2 on the road during Game 4, expect McDavid to be an integral part of that outcome. He was held without a point in Game 3 and should be primed for a bounce-back.
At +290, we could see McDavid's odds shorten considerably if he leads Edmonton to victory in Game 4. It's a good strategy to sprinkle a small wager on him in this futures awards market at this current price.
Brad Marchand (+800)
Florida's acquisition of Brad Marchand in late March has paid massive dividends. The Panthers' 37-year-old forward is red-hot in the Stanley Cup Finals, scoring in every game and tallying four goals ahead of Game 4.
Marchand won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins, so he's got winning pedigree. Despite playing undersized at 5-9, 180 pounds, he's physical and plays hard-nosed hockey.
Through 20 playoff games, Marchand has 18 points, including eight goals. Half of those goals have occurred during the first three games of the Stanley Cup Finals. Marchand also scored three goals against Toronto and a goal against Carolina.
If the Panthers go on to win their second consecutive Stanley Cup title, Marchand's odds to win the Conn Smythe Trophy will shorten quite a bit, especially if he keeps racking up goals and points. Don't miss out on Marchand's current 8-1 price leading up to Game 4.
