The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has completed the group stage of the tournament and now heads into the Round of 16 knockout stage this weekend. Plenty of surprise performances, both good and bad, happened during the previous two weeks.
Unlike other FIFA tournaments, which tend to use aggregate scoring for Knockout Stage matches, the Round of 16 matches in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup are single-elimination. No second leg will be played, meaning extra time, and penalties if necessary, will determine the winner and loser of each match.
Oddsmakers currently value Manchester City as the favorites to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at +280 odds. The Sky Blues won the last edition of this tournament in 2023, beating Fluminense 4-0 in the final. This year's tournament expanded the number of teams from seven to 32 in the field, yet Manchester City remains the betting favorite to defend their 2023 title.

Manchester City (+280)
Erling Haaland leads The Citizens into a Round of 16 matchup against Al Hilal on Monday night. Manchester City posted a +11 goal differential during the group stage, going 3-0 SU, allowing only two total goals against Group G opponents.
Assuming the Sky Blues advance to the Quarter-final, it'll likely be against Inter on Friday, July 4th. After that match, four quality opponents that include Palmeiras, Botafogo, Benfica and Chelsea will challenge Manchester City.
Defense has been huge for The Citizens during this tournament, while Haaland, Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku and Ilkay Gündogan each have a pair of goals to lead the team in scoring.

Paris Saint-Germain (+340)
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) entered the FIFA Club World Cup with a ton of momentum after winning their first UEFA Champions League title and French Ligue 1. The Parisians did drop a match to Brazilian club, Botafogo, 1-0 as their lone loss in the group stage.
PSG's production has been distributed, with six different players each netting a goal ahead of the Round of 16. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leads the Red and Blues with two assists through three group stage matches.
A +5 goal differential isn't nearly as impressive as other favorites in the FIFA Club World Cup futures market but Botafogo was the only opponent to score against PSG. The Parisians shut out the MLS Seattle Sounders 2-0 and Atletico Madrid 4-0.

Real Madrid (+500)
After a shocking draw against Al Hilal in the first group stage match, Real Madrid bounced back with a pair of wins by a multi-goal margin. The Whites beat Pachuca 3-1 and shutout RB Salzburg 3-0 in their last match played.
Led by Federico Valverde and Gonzalo Garcia, each with two goals, the 2025 Spanish LALIGA champions are poised to make a run in the knockout stage. Real Madrid faces Juventus in the Round of 16, and if they advance, play the winner of Dortmund and Monterrey.
Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior are top-tier players with plenty of experience competing in high-stakes environments. Real Madrid's roster is deep and more than capable of winning the 2025 FIFA World Cup at 5-1 odds.

Bayern Munich (+750)
Bayern Munich had the most lopsided win in the group stage, beating Auckland City 10-0 in their first match. The Bavarians cooled off a bit in their next two matches, beating Boca Juniors 2-1 before losing their final group stage match 1-0 to Benfica.
The runner-up in the German Bundesliga has four players with multiple goals entering the Round of 16. Michael Olise, Kingsley Coman, Harry Kane and Thomas Müller are all big-time names that have played well on the pitch during this tournament.
Bayern Munich faces Flamengo in the Round of 16 on Sunday afternoon. It won't be an easy match, with Flamengo winning Group D with a +4 goal differential, allowing only two goals in three matches. The Reds didn't even win Group C due to their shutout loss to Benfica.
We've seen the explosiveness of Bayern Munich's roster but most of that came against one of the weaker teams in this field. The Germans will have to find a way to convert scoring chances against better competition in the Round of 16.
This is the final team with odds shorter than 14-1 to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. If not for the 10-0 win against Auckland City in their opening match, this price might be 10-1 or longer. Bayern Munich has the veteran leadership to contend but it feels like oddsmakers are overvaluing this club right now.
