Next Chelsea Manager Odds: Liam Rosenior, Filipe Luis, and Cesc Fabregas Battle to Replace Maresca

Enzo Maresca left Chelsea earlier this week, after 18 months in charge of the West London team. This comes as a bit of a shock after he won the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League in a relatively short space of time.

With Chelsea being part of the BlueCo Group, a consortium led by LA Dodgers and LA Lakers part-owner, Todd Boehly, the expectation is that they will hire from within. That means Strasbourg Head Coach, Liam Rosenior, is the clear favorite for the role, given his success in the French Ligue 1.

Chelsea's recent lack of form in the Premier League and tensions between Maresca and the board have led to this search for a new coach, and while Rosenior looks almost certain to land the role, there are two former Chelsea players touted for the position as well.

Latest Next Chelsea Manager Odds - Rosenior Given 87% Chance of Taking Over

There is one clear favorite in the betting market to become the next Chelsea Manager and that is the Strasbourg Head Coach, Liam Rosenior, but there are others who are being given a small chance of entering the race. Below are the latest odds for the top 10 in the betting.

Trio of Former Chelsea Players in the Running

Filipe Luis (+900)

Filipe Luis won the Premier League and the English League Cup in his short time as a player at Chelsea, but it's his credentials as the Flamengo Head Coach, where he has won 64.77% of his games, that make him a candidate.

Luis has won the following titles in his time as the Flamengo Head Coach, and it is this level of winning that makes him a potential candidate and the closest challenger in the market behind Rosenior.

  • FIFA Challenger Cup: 2025
  • FIFA Derby of the Americas: 2025
  • Copa Libertadores: 2025
  • Campeonato Brasileiro Série A: 2025
  • Copa do Brasil: 2024
  • Supercopa do Brasil: 2025
  • Campeonato Carioca: 2025

Cesc Fábregas (+1000)

Cesc Fábregas enjoyed a far more fruitful spell as a player at Chelsea and is a Premier League legend, but his managerial record doesn't quite match that of Luis.

Fábregas won the Premier League twice, the FA Cup and League Cup once, and the UEFA Europa League as a Chelsea player, and it's that history with the club that put him in the spotlight.

As a manager of Como, he has won over 40% of his games and led Como to 10th place in Serie A, their highest-ever finish.

Frank Lampard (+2500)

Frank Lampard has already managed Chelsea twice, and he currently looks set to return to the Premier League, but as the Coventry City Head Coach. His team is leading the league, and he may wish to stay with his current team to see out that project.

Lampard won it all as a player with Chelsea, but he would no doubt love to win the Premier League with Chelsea as a manager one day.

We wouldn't rule out a return one day, but this may be too soon for the Chelsea legend.

Rosenior Destined for the Chelsea Hot Seat?

It doesn't certainly appear that at -700, something very odd would have to happen for Rosenior to not get the job.

He is the leading candidate for a reason, given the simplicity of moving him from one BlueCo team to another, and he is much more likely to be a "yes man" than any other candidate, which the board will want after the current situation with Maresca.
