Soccer's most prestigious individual award, the Ballon d'Or, will be announced on September 22, 2025. "Golden Ball" nominees will be announced beforehand in August, before this ceremony is held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
This award has been dominated by two of the sport's most iconic players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Both stars have won the Ballon d'Or at least five times since 2008. However, there seems to be a changing of the guard, with Spanish midfielder, Rodri, winning the 2024 Ballon D'Or as a member of Manchester City in the English Premier League.
To be recognized as the best soccer player in the world, a player is graded on their individual performance and decisiveness, collective success and titles, as well as their sportsmanship. It's currently a two-man race atop the 2025 Ballon D'Or futures betting market between Lamine Yamal (+150) and Ousmane Dembélé (+162), with Mohamed Salah and Raphina both a distant third at +900 odds.

Lamine Yamal (+150)
Lamine Yamal is a 17-year-old F for Barcelona who has evolved into a super star in 2025. Yamal helped lead Barcelona to a LALIGA title with nine goals and 13 assists.
In the Champions League, Yamal scored five goals and three assists. He just inked a six-year extension with Barça after leading the team in assists (13) against LALIGA opponents, while finishing with the fourth-most goals.
Yamal was unable to get his squad past Inter in the UEFA Champions League Semi-Finals, scoring once in the first leg. This could be why oddsmakers have him as a small betting favorite in this futures market.
Yamal would become the youngest player ever to win the Ballon d'Or award, beating Brazilian Ronaldo by four years.
Ousmane Dembélé (+162)
Paris Saint-Germain finds itself in the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday. It's mostly thanks to F Ousmane Dembélé taking care of their scoring.
Dembélé leads PSG with eight goals in tournament play, while helping the Parisians win French Ligue 1 with a whopping 21 goals in 29 games played. Now, Dembélé has an opportunity to bring PSG its first UEFA Champions League title.

Liverpool's English Premier League (EPL) title win helps Mo Salah's bid for the 2025 Ballon D'Or. The Reds' F logged 29 goals and 18 assists in the EPL, while adding three goals and four assists in the UEFA Champions League.
Salah's numbers in the Champions League were the lowest of his career in terms of total goals scored. However, he tallied the second-highest number of goals (29) and a career-high 18 assists during Liverpool's EPL title run this season.
Salah's performance for Liverpool in the EPL warrants enough consideration to pursue his +900 in the Ballon D'Or Winner futures market.
Raphina (+900)
Raphina is teammates with Lamine Yamal, which makes this +900 line on Raphina very intriguing from a value standpoint. Barcelona's F scored 18 goals and added nine assists in 32 LALIGA starts in 2025.
Against Champions League opponents, Raphina was red-hot, logging 13 goals and eight assists on 50 total shots. This was good enough to lead Barcelona in both scoring metrics.
The 28-year-old Brazilian had the second-most points for Barcelona in LALIGA, only behind Robert Lewandowski, who finished with 27 goals. 2025 has seen Raphina elevate his game, leading to a huge leap in production on the pitch.
Backing Raphina at this price is a good investment. This is especially true with Yamal being a bit less productive in comparison, while sitting four times shorter in this futures award market.
