Workday Charity Open Odds: Leishman the Most Popular Pick Among Bettors

Last week, Brandt Snedeker was the most-backed golfer to win the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but an opening-round 73 doomed the American as he missed the cut.
This week, with Thursday’s first round of the Workday Charity Open at Muirfield Village GC around the corner, the betting public has a different golfer in their sights in Australia’s Marc Leishman.
As of Wednesday, 5.33% of all bets are on Leishman to win, more than any other golfer in the field.
Leishman comes into the weekend with best odds of +4500, implying just a 2.2% chance of winning and giving him the 12th-shortest odds in the field.
It makes sense that bettors are attracted to Leishman at Muirfield Village, a course where he’s experienced consistent success over the years. He has four top-15 finishes in his last five appearances on the course, including two top-five finishes.
This week’s favorite, Justin Thomas (+1200), is right behind Leishman in popularity among bettors with 4.93% of bets backing him to win.
