Bryson DeChambeau & Brooks Koepka Hatred Causes Ryder Cup Betting Spree

Any normal year the USA Ryder Cup team would be absolutely delighted that Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka are both fit and in-form ahead of a Ryder Cup summer. However, as Phil Mickelson proved last weekend, this is no normal year…

For anyone who follows golf it was easy to see that Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka wouldn’t be the best of mates. The pair have a very different view on golf and life in general, however, the level of hatred between the duo wasn’t expected.

A social media clip appeared earlier this week which showed Brooks Koepka clearly fuming at a cheap comment made by Byrson DeChambeau during an interview.

If you haven’t seen it, where have you been…but the clip is below. If you can’t quite hear it. Brooks Koepka said, “I felt it difficult to read sometimes” when talking about putting at the PGA Championship. Bryson DeChambeau was walking behind the interview at the time and muttered: “Just gotta start it on the right line."

The feud carried on via Twitter after it was announced Bryson DeChambeau would be taking part in The Match against Phil Mickelson. The Twitter row had sparked various other hilarious replied from fellow PGA Tour players.

Anyway, the row is intriguing for all fellow golf fans, but is causing headaches for Ryder Cup captain, Steve Striker. One of the key ingredients to Ryder Cup success is a happy team, however, this appears to be impossible if the USA pick Bryson and Brooks, let alone Patrick Reed.

Since the feud between Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka split out to Twitter, 64% of bets in the Ryder Cup odds market have been on Europe.

Online sports bettors haven’t waited about to back against this unhappy camp. On paper you’d argue that USA have the stronger and more in-form Ryder Cup team, and the odds market also suggest this. However, that’s not put off thousands of bettors.
