Los Angeles Angels vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction: Do Jose Berrios, Blue Jays Have the Edge?

Los Angeles Angels vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction: Do Jose Berrios, Blue Jays Have the Edge?

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Angels will duel things out for an American League affair on Saturday night. These are two teams that felt as if they have underperformed the last couple of years, and they are hopeful for a turnaround this season. On paper, these are two of the best rosters in the AL, and I am very high on both of these rosters entering the year.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

The Blue Jays have gotten off to a solid start after dominating a series against the Royals. One player that has gotten off to a hot start this season is former all-star Matt Chapman. Chapman had a down year, but people forget that this guy was a top twenty player in baseball a few years ago on the Athletics.

If Chapman can turn in a high-level season, this is a team that can compete with anyone in baseball. An issue for the Jays the last few seasons has been pitching and defense, but they were aggressive in free agency and now feel as if they have one of the best staff in baseball.

The Angels, meanwhile, are looking to snap a long playoff drought. It is hard to believe that they have not been in the playoffs with the two best players in baseball on their roster in, Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. Similar to the Blue Jays, pitching has been an issue, but the Angles tried to add some arms in the off-season, and they feel as if these guys will be able to step in and give them strong innings. One of those guys is the man getting the ball tonight, southpaw Tyler Anderson.

I am going to back the Jays as dogs tonight. I expect a bounce-back start from Jose Berrios, who really struggled a season ago and struggled his last time out against the Royals. On the flip side of things, I believe that the Jays have a lot of matchup advantages against the Southpaw and that they will be able to produce at a high level offensively tonight. Let’s stay hot on the Diamond and cash in!
