Houston Astros vs. Minnesota Twins Prediction
Mahle is going to be battling against a good Astros offense that has struggled mightily this season. The Houston offense this season is 7-2 (78%) to the NRFI this season and currently ranks T-18th for home runs. The Astros offense also ranks 25th in strikeouts per game currently which is a huge boost statistic for cashing a successful NRFI.
After Mahle, the young superstar Hunter Brown will take over in the 1st inning. Throwing 97+ with nasty offspeed, many have compared the youngster to a Verlander prodigy and he fits that mold with these statistics. Brown has 3 career MLB starts, securing an NRFI in all 3 of those starts. Last season through 20.9 innings, Brown only allowed 2 runs to score with a .89 ERA.
Brown will be battling against a Twins offense that is unfamiliar with his game as they have never previously been matched up. The Twins are a perfect 2-0 to the NRFI at home this season while posting an overall NRFI record of 6-2 (75%) through their first 8 games.
