We haven’t bet much on San Diego this year. With that being said, we sure have faded Kansas City plenty thus far. It has proven to be effective, as the Royals have a putrid 12-30 record. I don’t see things getting much better today.
On the mound for Kansas City, today is Brad Keller. Keller is a weird pitcher because he has games. He looks very serviceable, but in the next start, he could look bound for Triple-A. I’m expecting the latter of the two today. San Diego has struggled against right-handed pitching, but they have a great track record against him, getting 12 RBIs against Keller in 59-lifetime at-bats.
Michael Wacha is on the mound for San Diego, and he has looked great in his last two starts. Wacha has allowed just one run in his last 12 innings pitched. I’m expecting him to allow a run or two here, but I like the offense to help us out here and tally some run support on the board today.
The Padres have been underachieving, with a 19-22 record. Eventually, they will get hot, and they have too much talent not to. Teams like Kansas City are the ones they absolutely need to win if they want to set themselves up nicely for a postseason run. We just need a lead after five innings. Let's roll!
