Toronto Blue Jays Alek Manoah

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees Prediction: Can the Yankees Get the Better of Alek Manoah, Blue Jays?

The New York Yankees are in Toronto, taking on the Blue Jays for a four-game series starting tonight. Can the Yankees get the better of Alek Manoah and the Blue Jays? Baseball betting expert Krabs breaks it all down.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees Prediction: Can the Yankees Get the Better of Alek Manoah, Blue Jays?

Fresh off a grueling four-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, the New York Yankees' battle against the AL East continues as the team travels to Toronto for another four-game stand against the Blue Jays. Winners of six of their last ten, Toronto enters play boasting an impressive 24-16 record, good for third in the East. The Yankees enter play at 23-19, fourth in the East and two games behind the Blue Jays. Toronto is currently -170 on the ML, and as much as I love fading the Yankees, give me them (+140) in this spot.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees Prediction

Alek Manoah will take the mound for the Jays today. Manoah has struggled thus far, posting a 1-3 record with a 4.83 ERA. He will face journeyman Jimmy Cordero, who is set to make his first-ever start in the big leagues of his career. Cordero has been one of the lone bright spots in the Yankees bullpen this season and enters play with a 2.81 ERA. The expectation is for Jimmy to turn in 2-3 solid innings before the Yankees turn to top-100 prospect Jhony Brito to close this one out.

Manoah on the mound versus a nobody seems like a sure pick right? It's Alek Manoah, for crying out loud. The Yankees have been struggling mightily lately, especially in the hitting department. It seems like this is a perfect opportunity for a Manoah to get the right game, right? Wrong. As much as it pains me to do this, give me my least favorite team in baseball to win outright tonight.

The Yankees bats came to life against the Rays. A big reason for that is perhaps the return of reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge (that under home runs was free, btw hope you tailed). As much as don’t love the guy, there’s no denying this is a different team when he’s in the lineup. The Yankees have also been bolstered by the return of Harrison Bader, the center fielder the team acquired for Jordan Montgomery at last season's trade deadline. Bader has been one of the hottest players in baseball since making his season debut and enters today’s games with a .333/3/11 stat line.

I expect the public to be all over the Blue Jays tonight. The Yankees' struggles have been well-documented up to this point. Manoah on the mound verse a relief pitcher feels like it warrants a heavier favorite for the Jays against the Yanks. The Yankees are rolling out their “A” lineup tonight, as none of the healthy starters are projected to take the day off. I expect Manoah’s struggles to continue tonight, and the Yankees to continue to get back on the right track after dealing with an early wave of injuries.
