Once again, we will be traveling to San Francisco to find a scoreless first inning from today’s MLB slate. Alex Wood will begin the NRFI festivities today, being known as a historically good first-inning pitcher. He is off to a hot 4-0 start in 2023 and will look to build on that here against the Marlins.

NRFI Bets Today - San Francisco Giants vs. Miami Marlins Prediction

Once again, we are targeting the weak Marlins' first-inning offense, as they have been horrid through the 1st inning in 2023. The Marlins' offense is currently 39-7 (85%) to the NRFI overall while being 9-1 in their last ten games. Here are the Marlins' first four batters against Wood in their career: Jon Berti (2-9), Jorge Soler (1-7), Luis Arraez (0-1), and Garrett Cooper (0-7).

After Wood battles against the Marlins' offense, Jesus Luzardo will take over on this Sunday against the Giants. Luzardo is dominant in the first inning, posting a 23-3 (89%) NRFI record since the start of last season, which ranks up there with the best first-inning pitchers in baseball. Luzardo is coming off a six-inning shutout against the best offense in baseball (ATL), so the Giants for three outs should be a quiet inning.
