The juice is massive, but I feel strongly that we hit this one. Gerrit Cole is 12 for 17 on hitting this number, so he is over 70%. That number should turn to 13 of 18 after today if things go as I envision them.
St. Louis Cardinals vs. New York Yankees Prediction
The New York Yankees are fresh off of a doubleheader where nine different relievers were used yesterday. Cole needs to go late here, so give the bullpen a break. The St. Louis Cardinals take fourth least pitches in the MLB, and Cole is due a bounce back after a lackluster last start.
Outside of Nolan Arenado, the Cardinals bats are 4-48 lifetime against Cole. I expect a masterclass today, and six innings should be light work for a guy who could throw over 100 pitches. Even if he allows some runs, he should be kept out there because of the depleted pen.
