Best MLB Strikeout Bets: Lock In This Expert's Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Sunday

I didn't get a chance to brag about my Friday, so I'll take the time to do it now. We went 3-0 with our strikeout props on Friday's slate, including a Dane Dunning prop that was +114. Last week, we had three of six days of going 3-0. That means we're seeing the board exceptionally well. Join me with my strikeout props for today's slate!

August 27 Best MLB Strikeout Props

Justin Verlander Over 6.5 Ks (+104) via FanDuel

Justin Verlander has struck out 21.3% of batters in the last 30 days. That's not entirely good, especially for the multi-year Cy Young winner. But he'll take on a Tigers projected lineup that has struck out 25.7% of the time against righties in the last month. Every batter in that lineup has struck out at least 20% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. Verlander has limited his ISO to .126 and has kept his wOBA down to .308 over the last 30 days. He's thrown an average of 97 pitches and should at least get through six innings. With essentially nine targets in this Detroit lineup, I expect Verlander to earn at least seven strikeouts.

Adrian Houser Under 4.5 Ks (-150) via FanDuel

Adrian Houser has struck out 32.2% of lefties but only 12% of righties in the last 30 days. He'll face a Padres lineup that should have six righties in the lineup. That's terrible news for Houser's strikeout rate. Houser has only struck out 16.2% of righties throughout the entire season. Now he'll face a Padres lineup with only four batters striking out more than 20.7% of the time against righties. On top of that, Houser has only thrown 81.8 pitches per start over the last month. He's not lasting very long. Take his Under.

Luis Castillo Under 6.5 Ks (+125) via FanDuel

I can't pass up this value. Luis Castillo has struck out 25.8% of batters in the last 30 days. That's down from the 27.6% of batters he's struck out this season. Castillo has only struck out 19.1% of righties in the last month. He'll face a balanced lineup that should include at least four righties. The Royals hit a .212 ISO and wOBA of .376 against righties last month. But more importantly, they've struck out 17.7% of the time against righties using their projected lineup in the previous 30 days. It'll be hard for Castillo to earn at least seven strikeouts today.
