Well, it is the last Wednesday of August, and as you all know, that means it is a travel day in the league, and we are just two days away from the expanded 40-man roster for September call-ups. With the majority of action getting underway here in the next hour or so, we are going to dive into one of the early evening games I am digging tonight. The New York Mets are hosting the Texas Rangers in the final game of this three-game series and will be looking to avoid the sweep at home tonight.

New York Mets vs. Texas Rangers Prediction
The Mets are a team playing without any spirit right now, and there really is no other way to put it. They were a very heavily hyped team going into the season, made some legit moves to make themselves contenders, and by the deadline, were dealing off aces because of how bleak things looked. Despite a huge payroll and superstar talent, the Mets have had a very disappointing season, and I honestly think it was very good for Texas to run into them when they did.
Texas was on a season-high eight-game losing streak and lost some major ground in a very tight divisional race with the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners, but they are starting to push back down on the throttle. They have won three of their last four games and have a chance to sweep a series for the first time in a while, and I expect them to be motivated to do so. The Mets do not care at this point, and with a three-way tie at the top of the division now for Texas, you have to make up for the ground you just lost.
