Well, after enjoying the nice day off with Labor Day, we are diving right back into action on the diamond as the final month of regular season baseball here in 2023 is underway. With September call-ups and teams playing on a wide spectrum in regard to motivation, it is time to start getting selective without spots and try to just find the very best plays each day. I want to dive into this money-line parlay between two squads in very advantageous matchups, and I like them to get the job done for us tonight.
MLB Parlay Tonight
Leg 1: Detroit Tigers vs. New York Yankees
The Yankees are eight games out of the wild card spot with less than a month remaining in the season, but after sweeping the Houston Astros this weekend, there are some signs of hope. With the Tigers in the Bronx tonight facing an arm pushing for the Cy Young conversation in Gerrit Cole, I think the fellas in pinstripes are poised for a win here on Tuesday night. Gerrit Cole has faded current Detroit hitters plenty and is sporting a .157/.203/.286 slash line against them. I have not been too high on the Yankees offensive production lately, but this is a big spot for them with their ace on the mound, and if they are going to make a move, you have to assume they win all of his starts down the stretch.
Leg 2: Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels
Simply riding the wave here with two teams trending in completely opposite directions. Baltimore has continued to excel on the road this season, sporting a league-best 44-25 record and facing a Los Angeles squad tonight that has dropped four straight and should be without Shohei Ohtani again. The offense still struggles with him in the lineup, so I do not see how they score enough tonight to route the Orioles. Reid Detmers has been abysmal this month with an ERA north of seven, and I like the Orioles again tonight.
