Logan Gilbert has struck out 30% of batters in the last 30 days. He's also held teams to a .284 wOBA in that time and has limited walks to 3.3%.
He'll face a Reds lineup that has struck out 25.4% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. Cincinnati has five players striking out at least 28.9% of the time against righties in that period.
With five targets, Gilbert should be able to earn at least six strikeouts through five or six innings. After all, he's nearly earning a strikeout per three outs.

Lance Lynn has struck out just 14.4% of batters in the last 30 days. That's down from 25% of strikeouts this season.
Lynn has always kept his walks down. However, he's still allowed a .187 ISO and wOBA of .343 to his last 97 batters this season. The Marlins have hit a .190 ISO and wOBA of .322 with their projected lineup and have struck out just 19% of the time against righties in the last 30 days.
Only three batters in the Marlins' lineup have struck out more than 19.5% of the time.
Meanwhile, Lynn has only earned 19.7% of whiffs and 10.2% of swinging strikes in the last 30 days. Both numbers are below the average.

Scherzer has also struggled against righties, earning just 21.7% of strikeouts against them in the last 30 days. The Astros should have six righties in the lineup tonight. That's even more reason why Scherzer will struggle to earn strikeouts tonight.
