Detmers has a 5.60 road ERA and has especially struggled against Seattle. He has thrown 8.2 innings against the Mariners and has a 9.35 ERA against them this year. Seattle lost yesterday and I like them to bounce back against a much inferior team.
Gilbert should pitch a gem today with Los Angeles being without their top-end talent. Los Angeles has no playoff aspirations at this point in the year and shouldn’t be as hungry as Seattle in this game. The 7.5 total makes me think Detmers has an okay start but nothing too great to scare me off.
I figured this would open over -150 so getting -130 feels like value to me. We’re getting to that point in the year where each win really matters for teams in the race so hopefully we see the better team win and start off hot more times than not. Let's roll!
