One of the best rivalries in all of sports is the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. These teams have been playing against each other for longer than any other rivalry in the US. The Yankees won the first game of a doubleheader in Boston earlier today. Will the Yankees sweep their rival today, or will the Red Sox fight back in the night game?

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees Prediction
Carlos Rodon will be getting the start for the Yankees. He signed a $162 million dollar contract with the Yankees this offseason, one of the worst contracts in baseball. Rodon’s ERA is now close to 7.00 after giving up seven runs to the Tigers last week. He has been one of the worst starting pitchers in baseball this season, making over 22 million dollars a year.
Both of these teams are out of playoff contention, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want to beat each other. After the Yankees stole game one, look for Kutter Crawford and the Red Sox to come out with some energy in the night game on TBS. It doesn’t hurt that New York burned their closer in the first game, either.
Rafael Devers is heating up down the stretch, already hitting a home run earlier today. Expect him and this potent Red Sox lineup to get the better of one of the worst pitchers in baseball. Rodon couldn’t get out of the third inning last week and will now face a lineup twice as good as the Tigers.
Kutter Crawford has great numbers against this Yankees team, including holding Judge to 2-9 in his career. The rest of this team has a combined six hits in 43 at-bats. He might not be a big-name arm, but he does have the Yankees’ number.
Fade the public and back the Red Sox to split the doubleheader with their rival and win tonight’s nationally televised matchup. The Yankees already burned Clay Holmes, their closer, and the rest of their bullpen behind Rodon is horrid. The Red Sox might not have a great bullpen either, but they do have Kenley Jansen and an advantage with their starter. Fade the overrated Yankees and back the better offense to shine on TBS tonight.
