It hasn’t been a great start to Drew Rom’s MLB career. He raised his ERA to 7.79 in his most recent start against the Cincinnati Reds last week. The Orioles should have a field day against the rookie tonight. They will capitalize with runners in scoring position against one of the worst arms in baseball.
Kyle Gibson will be getting the start for the O’s tonight. Considered the “workhorse” of the rotation, Gibson’s had a tough go at it recently. Not only is his ERA above 5.00 on the season, his ERA at home is even higher. Tonight, he faces a red-hot St. Louis Cardinals lineup that seems to have new life heading into the offseason. Expect Gibson to struggle at home once again tonight.
The Orioles have one of the best offenses in baseball. Don’t expect them to take their foot off the gas with the Rays only three games back in the AL East. The O’s will pile on the runs early and often against Rom and this horrid Cardinals’ bullpen.
