The Milwaukee Brewers have caught fire down the stretch of the season, pulling ahead by four games in the NL Central. The Brewers are 20-10 over their last 30 games, which is tied for second-best in the MLB over that stretch. The Brewers host the Miami Marlins in game three of their four-game series from American Family Field, with the Brewers up 2-0 in the series after winning 12-0 and 3-1 in the first two games of the series. Can they stay hot and set up a sweep for tomorrow?

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Miami Marlins Prediction
While the Brewers have been hot, the Marlins have been the opposite. The Marlins did well in April, May, and June but took a step back post all-star break. They were 53-39 heading into the all-star break and are just 21-32 post all-star break. There have been injury problems, of course, as Jorge Soler, who leads the team with 35 home runs, has been on the IL. However, even without the injuries, the Marlins pitching and hitting numbers have come down from early on in the season.
Along with the dropping numbers, the Marlins have also really struggled against better teams this season. While most "good" teams are at least around .500 against teams above .500, the Marlins are just 36-47 against teams above .500, while they have beat up on bad teams, going 38-24 against teams below .500. Perhaps that explains their struggles against the Brewers in this series, as they have not been very competitive against the surging team sitting first in the NL Central. Tonight may not go much different with Braxton Garrett on the mound.
Braxton Garret is 8-6 with a 3.82 ERA this season, which is pretty good, but the Brewers will get to him, as they have every lefty recently. The Brewers have been absolutely crushing lefties, posting a .308 average off southpaws the last 30 days, which is second in baseball. In a smaller sample size, the Brewers have dominated Garrett when they have faced him, as the current roster is 12-27 off Garrett with a .444 average.
The Marlins are only 1.5 games behind in the NL Wild Card race, but it feels like the season is slowly slipping away from them. The loss of Soler for these games hurts because he was their best power hitter, and he could bring in Luis Arraez and the other guys at the top who got on with hard hits and home runs. With Garrett on the mound, the Brewers should be able to put up more runs, as they have been against lefties so well, and the Brewers also have a talented and healthy bullpen to close the game out. This has all the makings of a potential sweep on it with how the Brewers have been playing. I'll take them to go up 3-0 here in this series tonight.
