Let’s give the Detroit Tigers some credit; they are only 11 games under .500. For them, that’s like making the playoffs! It’s been a while since we’ve seen a competitive baseball team in Detroit, but it’s good to see the Tigers playing decent baseball in Miguel Cabrera’s final season. Tonight, Reese Olson will be tasked with throwing his fifth gem in a row against the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers. Will Detroit shock the world with another upset, or will Bobby Miller and the Dodgers win their sixth game in a row?

Detroit Tigers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
Reese Olson looked spectacular in his last start, striking out seven Cincinnati Reds batters and allowing only one run in six innings. He’s looked great in his last four starts, but those outings were against the Reds, Chicago White Sox (x2), and the New York Yankees. Tonight’s matchup against the Dodgers will provide a much tougher test.
Bobby Miller will make another start for the Dodgers tonight after raising his ERA above 4.00 last week in Seattle. Miller has gotten roughed up in his last two starts, but overall, it’s been a great rookie campaign for the 24-year-old right-hander. Miller has done an incredible job of filling in for Walker Buehler in the rotation, and to be honest, he reminds me a lot of Buehler on the mound. This kid is legit, and I’m willing to bet he bounces back tonight.
The Tigers had their chance to steal a game against the Dodgers last night before Max Muncy walked it off for the Dodgers. This mainly veteran lineup doesn’t get as much media attention as some of the younger teams/players, but the Dodgers are playing their best baseball of the season right now. Don’t fade this team right now and back Reese Olson to throw his fifth gem in a row: he’s never thrown five great starts in a row in his career! He isn’t breaking that trend against the hottest team in baseball tonight. Fade the trendy Tigers and back the Dodgers on the run line. Bobby Miller will out-pitch Olson, and this Dodgers’ offense isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
