Best MLB Strikeout Bets: Lock In This Expert's Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Thursday

It's been a fantastic week of strikeout props.

Through the first three days of the week, we've got 7-2.

Justin Steele missed out on his +120 prop by one strikeout. He had six strikeouts through three innings but allowed six runs and didn't pitch any deeper.

But it is what it is. We got some profit for the third time in three days.

I'm greedy, though. I want more. Here are three strikeout props to consider for tonight's slate of games.

September 21 Best MLB Strikeout Props

Jake Irvin Under 3.5 Ks (+134) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

There's plenty of value with this prop.

Jake Irvin has only struck out 19.1% of batters this season. Over the last month, he's struck out 19.3% of batters.

He's also only thrown about 90 pitches per start this season.

Tonight, he'll take on a Braves lineup that has only struck out 15.5% of the time against righties in the last month. There's not a single player in this projected lineup for Atlanta that has struck out more than 21.8% of the time against righties.

Irvin has earned 19.5% of whiffs and 7.9% of swinging strikes over the last 30 days. Those are below-average numbers. Take his Under.

David Peterson Over 5.5 Ks (-130) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

David Peterson has been a gem for the Mets in the second half of the season. Over the last 30 days, Peterson has struck out 30.6% of batters. He's also earned a .112 ISO and wOBA of .318 while inducing over 54% of ground balls.

Peterson is going deeper in games, earning nearly 29% of whiffs with 14.5% of swinging strikes.

He limits damage when he limits walks. Over the last 30 days, he's only walked 6.1% of batters.

He'll face a Phillies lineup that has struck out 21.1% of the time against lefties. They've got four batters striking out at least 23.1% of the time against lefties. If he can get through the Phillies' order at least twice, with the way he's pitching, Peterson should get six or more strikeouts.

Kyle Hendricks Over 4.5 Ks (+110) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

Kyle Hendricks has struck out 24.2% of left-handed batters over the last 30 days. That's much higher than his 17.9% of strikeouts against lefties this season.

I like that trend heading into tonight's game against the Pirates.

The Pirates have struck out 27% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. They'll have six lefties in the lineup. Those lefties have combined to strike out 29.2% of the time.

Pittsburgh has only three batters striking out fewer than 22.6% of the time against righties.

While Hendricks isn't a typical volume strikeout thrower, he should get at least five tonight. The Pirates whiff a lot.
