Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers Best Bet: Can Zac Gallen, DBacks Close Out the Series in Game 2?
The Milwaukee Brewers look to bounce back in Game 2 of the Wild Card series after a frustrating Game 1. The Brewers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before surrendering three total home runs in the third and fourth innings, resulting in the Arizona Diamondbacks taking a 4-3 lead. The Brewers would not lead again in that game, despite getting lots of runners on base. Can they flip the script and bounce back in Game 2?

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
The Brewers out-hit the Diamondbacks 12-9 and still lost 3-6. The Brewers hitters had no problem getting on base yesterday, it was getting them home. The Brewers left 11 men on base yesterday and went 3-11 with runners in scoring position. On the other hand, the Diamondbacks left eight on base while going 1-10 with runners in scoring position.
Almost all of the Diamondback's runs came off of home runs yesterday, or at least the ones that mattered. While they could certainly hit home runs again, hitting three home runs in two innings is not sustainable, and Freddy Peralta is on the mound tonight.
Freddy Peralta had his fourth excellent season in a row, finishing the regular season with a 3.86 ERA. His ERA at home was just 3.44, and in 16 starts he gave up 14 home runs at home. He should be able to limit the long ball and also sit down a lot of batters. Peralta had his best swing-and-miss stuff this season, setting a career-high 210 strikeouts with just 165 innings pitched. Peralta finished fifth in strikeouts in the National League despite pitching fewer innings than anyone else even in the top 10. Peralta had a 30.9% strikeout rate this season, which ranked third in the National League behind only Spencer Strider and Blake Snell.
On the other side, Zac Gallen starts for the Diamondbacks. Gallen had an excellent season as well, finishing with a 3.47 ERA. However, he struggled more on the road. Gallen finished with a 12-3 record and a 2.47 ERA at home, but he was just 5-6 with a 4.42 ERA on the road. His road struggles may only be amplified in a rowdy postseason environment on the road, as the Milwaukee crowd is very loud when that stadium is full, which it will be tonight.
The Brewers were only down one run in the ninth yesterday before an uncharacteristic implosion from closer Devin Williams to allow two runs. The Brewers played that close of a game despite being able to bring many runners home. They didn't struggle to get hits, and they should produce again at the plate against Gallen and hopefully bring more guys home. Peralta should quiet the DBacks bats. I love the Brewers to tie this series and take it to Game 3.
