Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros ALDS Series Prediction: Can the Astros Advance to ALCS?

The Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros will face off for a five-game series with an opportunity to reach the ALCS.

Minnesota just won their first playoff series since 2002, which has people all over the Minnesota area jumping for joy.

Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros ALDS Series Prediction

The Twins are hopeful that their journey will not end after just one series.

The Twins pitching staff was lights out, limiting a good Toronto lineup to just one run over 18 innings.

Pablo Lopez and Sonny Gray paced the Twins as both delivered dominant starts.

The bullpen did not allow one run in the series.

Former number one pick Royce Lewis was the star of the series. Lewis, who was questionable to even play in the series with a hamstring injury, blasted a pair of home runs in Game 1, driving in all three runs. Lewis scored the first run in Game 2, which helped lead the Twins to the win.

Veteran Carlos Correa will match up with his former team. Correa did not swing a great bat over the last two days, but he did make an outstanding play in the field to stop the Jays from scoring and ending a rally.

Houston will enter this series after stealing the AL West on the season's final day.

Texas controlled the division most of the year, but on the last day of the season, Houston took down Arizona, and the Rangers lost 1-0 to the Mariners.

This Houston team brings loads of playoff experience as they have made the postseason for the sixth consecutive season.

Since 2017, Houston has won two World Series while reaching four.

Houston has played in the ALCS in six consecutive years.

This loaded lineup is headlined by two-time World Series champions Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve.

Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker picked up their first ring last season and were a huge reason why Houston won the division this season.

Justin Verlander was added at the trade deadline after winning a ring with Houston a season ago.

Verlander is expected to get the ball in Game 1.

Minnesota Twins vs. Houston Astros ALDS Series Pick

Simply put, Houston is the better team and more experienced team that holds the home-field advantage.

Minnesota struggled with the bats vs. Toronto, and scoring 2-3 runs in this series will not lead to wins.

I love the way that the Astors closed the season, and I expect the momentum to continue into this series.
