The Los Angeles Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 2 of the NLDS tonight as they try to avoid falling behind 0-2 in the series. Game 1 was an absolute disaster, as Clayton Kershaw failed to make it past .1 innings pitched in the game, giving up six runs in the process. The Diamondbacks went on to win that game 11-2, taking the opening game of the series and stunning the Dodgers. Can the Dodgers fight back in Game 2?

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
The Dodgers were a popular pick coming into game one because of their dominance against Merrill Kelly and their record in Dodger Stadium. Kershaw also had excellent numbers on the season, coming into last night's game with a 2.46 ERA. However, nothing went to plan, and the Dodgers looked rusty at the plate. Maybe the Diamondbacks playing two games and having less time off while the Dodgers sat and watched played an effect in that game, as the same thing looked to have happened to the Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves in their Game 1s as well. The good news for the Dodgers is, it was just Game 1, and they are in a similar situation tonight.
The Dodgers have found a lot of success against Zac Gallen, especially in Dodger Stadium. Gallen is 0-4 with an ERA of 4.29 in six total games in Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers are also 6-0 in those games. Gallen has started two games against the Dodgers this season. In the first, he gave up five earned runs in 4.2 innings.
In the second and most recent, Gallen gave up six earned runs in 5.1 innings. The Dodgers have pieced him up with this lineup this season, and perhaps they have shaken their rusty bats from Game 1 and can find more success off Gallen in Game 2. Gallen had a 2.47 ERA at home this season, but just a 4.42 ERA on the road.
The Diamondbacks have now gone 3-0 in the postseason so far, winning all three games on the road and as underdogs. I think they regress a bit in game two against Miller with Gallen on the mound and the Dodgers' bats wake up. However, the Dodgers are -155 on the ML today, so I'm knocking that juice down by pairing it with Freddie Freeman to get a hit. Freeman is the most heavily favored player to get a hit today at -290, but for good reason. Freeman led the Dodgers with a .331 batting average this season, and he had a hit against Gallen in both of his games against him this season.
In Game 1, Freeman went 0-2, lining out twice and walking twice. Both of Freeman's out were lined out. His first went 103.5 MPH to a glove, and his second went 105.3 MPH to a glove. He had a bit of bad luck, and when you consider his two walks, Freeman was clearly seeing the ball very well.
Gallen does not walk a ton of guys, so I expect Freeman will have to swing on him tonight. Freeman should continue his success off Gallen and find at least one knock in this game, which brings our Dodgers -155 ML bet down to +100 when parlayed with the Freeman hit. Is this a square play? absolutely. But for +100 odds, I'll take the Dodgers to bounce back in game two and for Freeman to get on the board.
