Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Best Bet: Can Spencer Strider Take Control in NLDS Game 4?

I think we can all agree that this series between the Braves and the Phillies has been insane. Between the chirps in the clubhouse, the Harper home runs and dramatic stare-downs, this has been the best series this postseason by far. What’s in store for Thursday night’s Game 4?

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

Do you remember when Spencer Strider was getting roasted for saying in an interview that there shouldn’t be fans at the game? Yeah, the Phillies fans remember that interview too. They were changing “We want Strider!” throughout the ballpark in Game 3.

As much as I’d love to back this fun narrative of rooting against the No. 1 seed in the National League, Strider won’t be the reason the Braves lose this game. He dealt for seven innings against the Phillies in his last outing. In fact, Spencer Strider is 8-0 with a 1.90 ERA in eight starts against Philadelphia in his career. He owns the Phillies, and a loud Philly crowd isn’t going to change that tonight.

Ranger Suarez has pitched fairly well against the Braves in his career as well. The 28-year-old lefty owns a 3.00 ERA in 16 appearances against Atlanta. In a must-win spot for the Braves, I’m willing to bet they come up to the plate a little tense, struggling to score early.

The majority of the public seems to think Philadelphia roughs up Strider tonight, and that this series is over. The splits would reflect that, with nearly 70% of bets and handle currently backing the Phillies to advance after tonight’s Game 4.

Instead of having to fade Strider, or bet on the sluggish-looking Braves tonight, why not just fade these two offenses under the brightest of lights? All eyes will be on this matchup tonight as it’s the only postseason game. I’m willing to bet these offenses struggle to get going early, and the under cashes with ease.
