Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction

Philly took a commanding lead last night and never looked back.

Kyle Schwarber started the party on the first pitch that the Phillies saw. Schwarber blasted a majestic home run to set the tone for the night.

The birthday boy Bryce Harper would hit a solo home run of his own in the first.

Nick Castellanos stayed red hot, blasting a solo shot in the second inning. Castellanos has hit four home runs in the last three playoff games.

The game-winning hit proved to be a single by Bryce Harper in the fourth inning.

Zack Wheeler was outstanding, throwing six innings and allowing just two runs.

Arizona did not lay down as they attempted to make a late rally.

Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo blasted a two-run home run in the sixth.

The D Backs would add a run in the seventh, but the Phillies bullpen closed the game strong, led by Jose Alvarado and Craig Kimbrel.

Arizona will hand the ball to veteran Merrill Kelly tonight. Kelly went 12-8 with a 3.29 era this year.

Opposing Kelly will be the Louisiana-born righty, Aaron Nola. Nola went 12-9 with a 4.46 era.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Philadelphia Phillies Pick

Despite the D Backs making a late push last night, Philly controlled the entire game.

This series is a mismatch, as the Phillies' offense is simply too much for the D Backs to handle.

The Phillies lineup has good numbers vs Kelly. Philly is batting .288 in 59 at-bats vs Kelly. Trea Turner is someone to keep an eye on as he is hiring .429 vs. Kelly in 21 at-bats.

Nola has solid numbers vs the D Backs. Arizona is hitting .255 vs. Nola in 55 at-bats. Nola has controlled the D Backs stars as Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte are a combined 2-12 vs Nola.

Additionally, Nola pitches much better at home. Nola has an era of 3.29 at home compared to 5.43 on the road.
