Best MLB Strikeout Bets: Lock In This Expert's Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Monday's World Series Game 3

We've got an exciting matchup for Game 3 of the World Series. The Texas Rangers will send out veteran Max Scherzer, while the Arizona Diamondbacks will throw rookie right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. Scherzer is way more accomplished than Pfaadt. However, Pfaadt has out-pitched Scherzer in the postseason. What can we expect with tonight's matchup? Here are a couple of strikeout props to consider for tonight's World Series action.

October 30 Best MLB Strikeout Props

Max Scherzer Over 4.5 Ks (-104) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Max Scherzer has only struck out 20% of batters over the last 30 days. He's also allowed a .370 ISO and wOBA of .467 since returning to the mound in the ALCS. However, he's taking on an Arizona lineup that has struck out 27% of the time against righties. The Diamondbacks have seven different batters striking out at least 22.7% of the time. They've also got eight batters striking out over 22% of the time against righties in the last month. Therefore, while Scherzer might not get incredibly deep in this game if he throws four or five innings, he could easily finish with at least five strikeouts. This season, Scherzer added 27.5% of strikeouts. The rate is down right now. However, against this Arizona lineup, that rate should start to increase. Let's take Scherzer's over.

Brandon Pfaadt Under 4.5 Ks (-122) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Brandon Pfaadt has struck out 33.3% of batters in the last 30 days. He's been sensational for the Diamondbacks. The pressure hasn't got to him, which is probably the most impressive thing. However, he'll face a Texas lineup that has only struck out 20.8% of the time against righties. The projected lineup only has two batters striking out more than 22.2% of the time in the last month against righties. That's Alek Thomas and Josh Jung, who have hit above-average ISO and wOBA against righties in the last month. Pfaadt has been tremendous. We might even get to see him in a Game 7 against Scherzer. However, he doesn't match up well with the Texas lineup. He won't go deep and has few targets to add to his high strikeout rate. I'm on his under.
