Texas Rangers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction
The Rangers had to dip into their bullpen early yesterday with Max Scherzer leaving early with a back injury. They actually brought in their projected Game 4 starter Jon Gray to pitch for three innings, which saves their bullpen but puts them in a tough spot for Game 4 tonight. It will be Andrew Heaney getting the start for the Rangers. He’s had some good and bad appearances so far in the postseason, and will have a tough test against the top of the Arizona lineup to start this game.
We don’t know how long Heaney is going to pitch tonight, but either way the Snakes have the advantage in this contest. Whether it’s Heaney or this Rangers bullpen getting the bulk of the innings, it puts the Snakes in a great spot to even this series up.
I’ve said it before the series started and I’ll say it again: the Diamondbacks are winning the World Series this year. Even after a loss last night, they still feel like the team of destiny this year. They are rolling with an opener for tonight and dipping into their bullpen early and often in this contest. This also gives Arizona the pitching advantage, because although they might not have big names in that pen, they’ve been nearly un-hittable this entire postseason.
The odds on the moneyline flipped this afternoon in the contest. The Rangers were -115 before Arizona shifted to become the favorites tonight. It could be the news of Adolis Garcia potentially missing the game tonight that’s moved the line, or maybe the Snakes are just the sharp side tonight. Either way, I’ll be betting on the Diamondbacks to even this series up tonight.
