The Texas Rangers took a low-scoring Game 3 by a score of 3-1 to go up in the series 2-1 over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tonight, the Rangers send out Andrew Heaney to take the mound, while the Diamondbacks will send out Joe Mantiply. I'm expecting a much higher-scoring game than Game 3 with essentially a bullpen game ahead of us in Game 4.

Texas Rangers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction
In Game 1, I took the YRFI (Yes Run in the First Inning) and it cashed with two Rangers runs in the bottom of the first. Thankfully, I didn't touch the same bets in Games 2 and 3, because there were no runs in the first inning in either of those two games. For Game 4, however, I am going back to it.
Both teams have seen a lot of runs early in their postseason games this year. The Diamondbacks now have a 9-6 YRFI record, seeing a run in the first inning in nine of their 15 postseason games. The Rangers also have a positive YRFI record at 8-7. This is because of how stacked each of the tops of the lineups are and how hot the hitters are.
Any time Corbin Carroll gets on, it seems like he takes off for second almost automatically, which makes sense since he's one of the fastest players in the league. Ketel Marte is one of the hottest hitters in the 2023 postseason, hitting .333 in the playoffs. Marte also has two home runs off Heaney in just six at-bats against him. Speaking of power, Christian Walker, hitting fourth, has two home runs off Heaney in just three at-bats. With all that power against Heaney, even a ball to the wall can get one home for the Dbacks in the first.
On the other side, the Rangers have a scary top of the order as well. Marcus Semien has found his groove after a cold start to the postseason with a hit in five straight games. Corey Seager was second in the MLB with a 1.013 OPS this season and is hitting .298 in the postseason. He has also hit a home run in three of his last four games, including one in two of the first three games in the World Series.
Evan Carter has been a magical rookie, leading the Rangers in postseason batting average with a .333, and he may hit third today. Adolis Garcia is banged up and listed as questionable, but even if he can't go, the Rangers have more than enough firepower to score in the first.
The Diamondbacks are extremely aggressive on the bases, and down 1-2 in the series, I expect no change tonight. They have also had a lot of first-inning success in the playoffs. The same can be said for the Rangers, who have one of the best 1-2-3-4 lineups in the league.
There are so many guys who could hit a bomb in the first, like Seager, Marte, Walker, or Garcia if he plays. With two NRFI's hitting in a row in games two and three, I think we see early first-inning action again in game four with Heaney and Mantiply on the mound.
