I’m worried that the Rangers might start pitching around Marte. At this point, it’s clear that it’s nearly impossible to get this guy out; he’s hit successfully in 19 straight playoff games. Personally, I don’t want to back Marte to get a hit tonight. As soon as I lock that in, his hitting streak will end. Here’s how I’m looking to bet on Marte tonight…
If the Rangers are going to pitch around Marte, that would probably be a smart idea considering he’s 2-5 with 2 HRs in his career against Andrew Heaney. Whether he pitches to him or not, I see Marte getting on base plenty of times tonight. With the total up to 9.5 after a snooze-fest of a game last night, it doesn’t look like there will be a shortage of runs in Game 4.
This might surprise you, but Ketel Marte hasn’t scored all series. He only scored two runs in the NLCS, and they both came in the same game. It’s wild to see Marte on a crazy-long hit streak only crossing the plate a couple of times in the past few series...
I’m willing to bet that Ketel Marte crosses home plate and scores a run tonight. He is anywhere between (-120) and (-150) to score tonight on the books, so always line shop if you can. He has a great matchup against a lefty he has historically dominated against, and the Rangers’ bullpen is nothing to fear. With the total on the rise, it’s looking like there will be plenty of runs in this contest: let’s bet on Marte to be one of them.
