The MLB slate might have 14 games. However, many of the matchups on the East Coast will likely be postponed.
There's a good chance six of the 14 games aren't even played. Therefore, I'm not even going to bother with those games. I'm looking at the other eight that won't have any rain impact for our strikeout best bets tonight.
April 2 Best MLB Strikeout Props
Jose Berrios Under 5.5 K's (-158) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS
Jose Berrios struck out under 24% of batters last season. He was consistent against both sides of the plate but never had eye-popping numbers.
Tonight, he'll face an Astros lineup that only struck out 20% of the time against righties last season. This projected lineup has three targets Chas McCormick, Jeremy Pena, and Jake Meyers. The other seven batters struck out no more than 21.7% of the time last season against righties.
Berrios earned six strikeouts in his season debut against Tampa Bay. But he also allowed six hits and one walk and had a WHIP of 1.17. He was far from excellent at that start. After Houston just put up ten runs against Toronto, it's unlikely Berrios will follow up his first performance with another six-strikeout game.
Brayan Bello Over 5.5 K's (-113) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS
Brayan Bello isn't known for high strikeouts. After all, he only earned two strikeouts against the Seattle Mariners on March 28 after throwing five innings. However, Bello is in line to face an Athletics team that struck out 26.7% of the time last year.
Only Nick Allen of the Athletics struck out less than 22.8% of the time against righties last season. Bello ultimately has eight targets throughout the entire lineup. It's also likely he'll face these batters twice through at least. Therefore, that would give Bello 16 targets two times through the order.
Bello also struck out 25.4% of righties last season. Oakland figures to have five righties in the lineup, which is also helpful. Grab Bello's Over.
Miles Mikolas Under 3.5 K's (-104) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS
Miles Mikolas didn't have the best season debut. Against the mighty Dodgers, he allowed seven hits and five runs in just 4.1 innings of work. He still struck out five batters but also walked two and couldn't even get to five innings.
Last year, Mikolas struck out under 16% of batters. He was poor against righties and lefties and allowed many extra-base hits to lefties.
While the Padres don't have a ton of lefties in the lineup. They've got guys who simply don't strike out much against righties.
San Diego will likely only have a couple of batters in the lineup that have struck out more than 21.7% of the time.
Xander Bogaerts, Jake Cronenworth, Manny Machado, Ha-Seong Kim, Jurickson Profar, and Luis Campusano all kept strikeouts down against righties last season. I'll take my chances with Mikolas' Under.
