TUESDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: JUAN SOTO (NYY) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of this hit parlay is: Juan Soto. Soto will bat 2nd in the Yankees lineup tonight against Zac Gallen. If you backed Juan Soto yesterday, this leg might be triggering to see, as he went 0/3 with two walks. While that is always a concern for Soto (he has a high walk percentage), Gallen was in the 88th Percentile for Walk percentage last year…just pitch to the man!
Juan Soto is batting .450 on the season. Prior to yesterday, he had a hit in four straight games. He still has the threat of Aaron Judge looming behind him in the on deck circle. Judge has yet to get going but it’s just a matter of time. Being on the road, we are guaranteed nine Innings of the Yankees batting. Additionally, Gallen was worse against lefties last year, and I don’t trust their bullpen either.
Let’s hope Juan Soto gets it done in his first AB so we can move to leg two in the latest game on the slate.
LEG 2: MOOKIE BETTS (LAD) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of this Hit Parlay is: Mookie Betts. Mookie will bat leadoff as the Dodgers host the Giants in Game 2 of this series.
Yesterday, Mookie went 2-3 against the Giants. On the season, he is hitting a ridiculous .520 batting average. Today, Mookie faces the Giants ace Logan Webb. While Webb is a great pitcher, Mookie has great splits against him batting a career 12-30 (.400). Last season, Webb allowed a .268 batting average to righties and a .228 to lefties. Mookie being a righty has the advantage today.
As The leadoff batter in a daunting lineup, Mookie will see several pitches to hit. The books do think Webb gives up several hits as his line is set to 6.5 hits allowed. We only need one hit today from Mookie!
