After a 2-1 day last night, we're headed into Thursday's slate with some momentum.
Unfortunately, there are just six games on the MLB slate. However, two of those games will be a doubleheader between the Mets and Tigers. I don't like dipping my feet into doubleheader games with all of the unknowns that come with it.
That said, there are still four games on the slate. That's enough games to find three strikeout props!
April 4 Best MLB Strikeout Props
Josiah Gray Over 5.5 K's (-122) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
Josiah Gray finished his first game of the season with a 15.75 ERA. He went four innings but earned six strikeouts despite a WHIP of 2.50.
He had a rough go against Cincinnati, but he showed that he's a very capable strikeout thrower.
Today, he'll face a Pirates lineup that has struck out 26.3% of the time against righties since last season. Every single person in the Pirates' lineup has struck out at least 20.8% of the time against righties.
Meanwhile, Gray only struck out 20.5% of batters last season. But he followed up last year's season with 27.3% of strikeouts in his first start of the season. If he settles down and pitches into the fifth inning, six strikeouts are very likely for Gray.
Tanner Bibee Over 6.5 K's (-102) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
We're asking for a lot out of Tanner Bibee tonight. But he's got a really good matchup against the Twins tonight.
The Twins' projected lineup has struck out 25.7% of the time, dating back to last season against righties. Only Carlos Santana has struck out fewer than 21.2% of the time, and six batters in the lineup have struck out at least 23.1% of the time against righties.
That's a lot of targets for Bibee, who struck out 24.1% of batters last season. Bibee was consistent with strikeouts against both sides of the plate but didn't have the best start to the season in the strikeout column.
He only went four innings and struck out four against Oakland, which is honestly pretty embarrassing. But his stats last year prove that he's much better than that.
Expect a bounce-back performance from Bibee and plenty of strikeouts.
Lance Lynn Over 5.5 K's (-110) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds
Lance Lynn struck out 23.3% of batters last season. However, in his first start against the Dodgers, he struck out 29.4% of batters.
Lynn pitched four innings against the Dodgers and struck out five, along with a 1.25 WHIP and no runs allowed.
Tonight, he'll face a Marlins team that has hit a .162 ISO and wOBA of .310 using this year's and last year's stats combined. That lineup has also struck out 22.1% of the time against righties. It's got six targets who have struck out at least 22.7% of the time against righties.
Take Lynn to rack up strikeouts tonight.
