I’m tempted to put more than one unit on this but it’s too early in the year for me go that wild. Spencer Strider is a wagon and it’s a shame he got no run support in his opening start. For his sake and ours, I hope that changes tonight.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves Prediction
Strider is possibly my favorite pitcher in the league. The guy absolutely deals and I expect him to cruise today even with facing some tough Arizona bats. The Diamondbacks' bats are 4-38 against him lifetime. Batting .105 as a team against him is brutal and I full expect him to go the five innings needed to qualify for the win.
In order to win this we do need run support. On the mound for Arizona is Tommy Henry, this could not better. In Henry’s opening start he allow five runs in four innings to Colorado! He now faces a much better Atlanta team who will be determined to help Strider out unlike his first start.
Atlanta has never faced him which works in his favor, but Atlanta historically mashes left handed pitching. This is Atlanta’s home opener and I expect a fun day for them to celebrate a Strider win. Let's roll!
