NEW YORK METS VS. CINCINNATI REDS PREDICTION
The New York Mets have started off slow this season. They currently only have one win getting their first yesterday against the Tigers in the second game of the double header. Pete Alonso has been hitting pretty solid with a .292 batting average early this season with two homeruns and two runs batted in. Other than that, there has not been many positives.
The Mets got swept in a three game series against the Brewers and started off their season losing five straight games. Although they have a win under their belt now, can they turn the tides? Personally, I do not think so as I believe that the Mets will drop another game starting their season 1-6 tonight against the Reds.
The Reds have started off their season well as I am not sure that they would have expected winning their first four of their six games. They took two from the Nationals at home, and took two from the Phillies on the road. Hunter Greene takes the mound for the Reds today. Greene pitched 4.2 innings in his first start this season giving up two runs on five hits against the Nationals in a game that the Reds lost.
I think Greene has a better outing tonight versus the Mets. The 24 year old has been very average in his young career, but he does have decent "stuff". I expect Greene to set the tone early today as he hopes to shut down the bats of Pete Alonso and Francisco Alvarez who already has eight hits this season.
Expect the Reds bats to show up as I can see Elly De La Cruz getting out of his strikeout slump and becoming a factor in tonight's matchup at Great American Ball Park.
