Today, the New York Mets travel to Cincinnati to take on the Reds. The Mets have struggled to start the season and I believe the Reds are at a good advantage at home. Down below I will explain why I will taking the Cincinnati Reds against the New York Mets.

New York Mets vs. Cincinnati Reds Prediction

Today we are going to be fading the National League East again for the play of the day. The Mets have looked horrible so far into the young season, batting a dreadful .188 and averaging about two runs a game. They just got done with a double-header on Thursday and now have to travel to Cincinnati to play a team that ha an extra day of rest.

Cincinnati this year has a type of energy you see in a young team that is on the cusp of being a really good team. This showed in Philly taking two of three, one of which which against ace pitcher Zach Wheeler.

Jose Quintana will be on the mound for the Mets, and I can't really say anything bad about him. His peripherals and numbers are in steady decline for the most part year over year, but he's still a solid pitcher.

What we will be banking on is the Mets offense continuing to stall on the road against Hunter Greene. Hunter Greene is still viewed as a very exciting young pitcher who has the tools to be a legitimately ace, but hasn't been able to get everything together consistently.

He had a very average show in his first start of the season, but everybody is expecting to him to take a big step this season, and I expect him to shut down this soft-hitting Mets lineup. The Reds are top ten in majority of offensive categories and hopefully show that against the Mets today.
