April 6 Best MLB Strikeout Props
J.P. France Under 4.5 Ks (-138) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS
Last year, J.P. France struck out just 17.1% of batters. He faced nearly 600 batters and only struck out 17.1% due to his struggles against right-handed hitters. France struck out only 14.2% of righties and allowed a .178 ISO and wOBA of .344.
While France will likely only take on three righties in the Texas lineup tonight, he's still got his work cut out for him.
The Rangers' projected lineup has only struck out 21.8% of the time, dating back to last season. Only Adolis Garcia, Evan Carter, and Jared Walsh have struggled to make contact with righties. However, Garcia and Carter have each destroyed right-handed pitching with massive ISO and wOBA numbers.
Therefore, I'm not too high on France tonight. He only struck out 20.8% of batters in his first start of the season and induced only 16.7% of grounders. It's very likely he gets into trouble and has some high-pressure situations to deal with throughout the game. Take his Under.
Clarke Schmidt Under 5.5 Ks (-134) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS
Last season, Clarke Schmidt only struck out 21.5% of batters. While his strikeout rate was a little better to begin the season this year, he still allowed a .308 ISO and wOBA of .465 to his first 13 righties faced.
Schmidt will take on the Blue Jays, who will likely have seven righties in the lineup. That Toronto lineup has struck out just 20% of the time against righties since last season. There are really only three targets for Schmidt.
It's very likely Schmidt doesn't even get through five innings. Take his Under.
Max Fried Under 5.5 Ks (-166) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS
Max Fried used to be a high-strikeout pitcher. He even added 24.9% of strikeouts last season.
But I'm not so sure about him this year.
Fried lasted just .2 innings against the Phillies in his season debut and struck out one batter after allowing two hits and three runs, with three walks.
Tonight, he'll take on an Arizona Diamondbacks lineup that is just as good as the Philadelphia lineup. Arizona has at least five batters in the projected lineup that have hit a very high ISO against lefties dating back to last season.
There are also seven batters who have hit a wOBA of at least .309 against lefties. Plus, the entire lineup combined has struck out just 19.2% of the time against lefties dating back to last year.
Fade Fried.
