Welcome back to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Last week, we did the unthinkable, going 5-0, cashing our parlay on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday AND Friday. It does not get better than that. Today, we look to duplicate that run. Let's move to 6-0 on these parlays. Let's dive in.
MONDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: MOOKIE BETTS (LAD) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Mookie Betts. Mookie and the Dodgers continue their road trip in Minnesota today. Mookie Betts is coming off back to back games where he did not get a hit. Prior to that, he had a hit in four straight games. On the season, he is still hitting .386. Will he make it a third straight? I say no.
Betts gets to face Bailey Ober today. Ober is rocking a 54.00 ERA on the season...that's not great (expert analysis). Against Ober, Mookie is 1-3 batting .333. As the leadoff batter on the road, Mookie will get a maximum amount of plate appearances today. We like Mookie Betts to end his hitless streak today.
LEG 2: JOSE ALTUVE (HOU) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of this hit parlay: Jose Altuve. Altuve and the Astros finish up a series against their in-state rivals the Rangers today.
Altuve is an amazing hitter batting on the road in Texas. In his career, Altuve is hitting .307 in Texas. That is an elite average in any ballpark, let alone on the road. Altuve also has a hit in all three games of this series so far. Today, Altuve faces the lefty Andrew Heaney. Against Heaney, Altuve is 13-39 for a .333 average.
Altuve bats leadoff on the road similar to our first leg Mookie Betts. This is great as he will get the maximum 9 innings of at-bats to get a hit for us today.
