Best MLB Strikeout Bets: Lock In This Expert's Best MLB Player Prop Bets for Thursday

There are only five games on the MLB slate today. Sixty percent of the slate will be played in the early afternoon, while the other two games will be on at night.

It's going to be a slow day in sports, with no NBA games on the slate, either.

But if we make some profit, all will be alright. Here are three strikeout props to consider for today's MLB action.

April 18 Best MLB Strikeout Props

Carlos Carrasco Over 4.5 Ks (+130) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

To begin the season, Carlos Carrasco has struck out 25% of left-handed batters. He's faced 28 lefties, so it's not a massive sample size. He also only struck out 13.3% of lefties last season.

So there's that.

However, the Red Sox should have seven lefties in the lineup against Carrasco. Since last season, those lefties have struck out nearly 23% of the time, and six batters in the lineup have struck out at least 23.8% of the time to righties.

If Carrasco can get through five innings, the matchup is good enough for him to earn five or more strikeouts if that strikeout rate against lefties continues. I'll take my chances with the Over.

Jameson Taillon Over 4.5 Ks (+112) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Jameson Taillon will make his first start with the Cubs this season.

While we've got no stats from the veteran this season, his stats last year share enough.

As a right-handed pitcher, Taillon struck out only 21.3% of batters and earned just 19.3% of strikeouts against lefties.

Tonight, he'll take on a Marlins lineup that should have more lefties than righties in the lineup. Meanwhile, the lefties in the Marlins' projected lineup have combined to strike out just 20.1% of the time.

We also don't know how long Taillon will last. I'd be shocked if he saw more than five innings of work in his return.

Logan Webb Under 4.5 Ks (+116) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Through 99 batters, Logan Webb's strikeout rate has dipped to start the season. He's only struck out 17.2% of batters, including just 14.8% of righties to begin the year.

Last season, Webb struggled with striking out righties but still added 22.8% of strikeouts against 850 batters.

That said, he's in line to face more righties than lefties in the Arizona lineup. The Diamondbacks' projected lineup has struck out just 22.4% of the time. That's ultimately due to Eugenio Suarez, or it would be much lower.

Let's back the Under for Logan Webb. He might get through six innings, but it won't be via the strikeout.
