Welcome back to the daily Hit Parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. Yesterday, Freddie Freeman was robbed of three hits...all we needed was one to get through the infield but the 1st and 2nd Baseman had other plans. That's how it's going to be sometimes. Time to pick ourselves back up and cash out easily on a short slate!
THURSDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: COREY SEAGER (TEX) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of this hit parlay: Corey Seager. Seager and the Rangers finish up their series in Detroit today. Seager is coming off a game yesterday where he had two hits.
On the season, he’s batting almost .300...a .297 batting average will do the trick. He’s one of the best hitters in the league for a reason. Seager faces Kenta Maeda today. Against Maeda, Seager is 1-3 batting .333. Maeda has also allowed 5+ hits in two out of three starts this year. Seager bats in the second spot in this lineup and will get a guaranteed 9 innings of at-bats. He will cash this first leg for us. Reminder: this is an early start, so please get this locked in ASAP!
LEG 2: ANDRES GIMENEZ (CLE) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of this hit parlay: Andres Gimenez. We backed Andres a few days ago and he delivered two hits…while that’s beautiful, I only need 1 Hit today, Mr. Gimenez.
Andres will face the Red Sox in a bullpen game. Yesterday, the Guardians got cooked by Tanner Houck. He threw a 9-Inning shutout, Gimenez went 0-4. I expect better from the Guardians. I don’t fear anyone in this Red Sox bullpen. Gimenez is batting .286 on the year. What I like most about him is he’s not trying to do too much with the ball. 20 Hits on the year, only six extra base hits. He’s trying to get on base, put pressure on the pitcher who then has to face Jose Ramirez. I’m confident Andres delivers for us once again.
