Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction: Can Jack Leiter Emerge Victorious in Rangers Debut?
Early baseball! Y'all know I love having baseball in the day and while I wasn't crazy about this slate, I am all jacked up for this game. The Texas Rangers (9-9) are in the Motor City for the final game of this four game series with the Detroit Tigers (10-7) and I like the road team to snag one more game here.

Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction
I really was considering taking the day off with a meaningless hockey slate and a weak MLB slate, but I just found out Jack Leiter got called up and is making his MLB debut today, and I am all over Texas now. I have known about this kid since high school and have been following him since college.
This kid was absolutely incredible at Vanderbilt and his prospect video is literally a guilty pleasure of mine, I have watched it 100 times. His fastball touches 99 and he has two excellent breaking pitches complemented by the off-speed. Sure, the kid may have a welcome to the big leagues moment as all rookies do, but I expect this to be a great debut spot with a day game. Young kids are used to playing during the day, and offenses generally are dormant during the day.
Detroit will want to split the four games series surely but this doesn't all fall on Leiter either, the Texas bats really have been quiet in this series with the five spot yesterday being the only real work they have done, and they just edged Detroit out by one. I think they give the kid some run support in his debut and expect a full lineup, give me Texas.
