Patrick Corbin Nationals 2023

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals Prop Pick: Will Patrick Corbin Struggle Against Dodgers Lineup?

The Washington Nationals will host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night in D.C. Will Patrick Corbin struggle on the mound against this stacked Dodgers lineup? Krabs provides his prediction and prop pick in Dodgers vs. Nationals.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals Prop Pick: Will Patrick Corbin Struggle Against Dodgers Lineup?

Patrick Corbin just pitched against the Dodgers last week, allowing 9 hits and 5 earned runs in 6.1 innings of work. That was in the midst of a series loss to the Nationals, and ended up being the Dodgers only win of the series. After a 10-0 win against the Mets on Sunday, Mookie Betts and the Dodgers get to face Corbin for the second time in a week on Tuesday night…

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals Prediction

Let’s get one thing straight… Patrick Corbin should not be a starting pitcher right now. If it wasn’t for his massive contract, he would have already been released, but since he’s getting paid so much guaranteed money, the Nationals have kept him in the rotation to eat up innings. He might not get the opportunity to eat up as many innings as Davey Martinez would like against the Dodgers on Tuesday…

You couldn’t ask for a worse matchup for Corbin tonight. Not only did the Dodgers just face him, but after a week or two of their offense struggling, it seems like they are back on track after a big win against the Mets in their last game. The Dodgers have better numbers across the board this year against left-handed pitching. It could be another long night for Patrick Corbin, or potentially even a short night if he gets yanked early.

James Paxton has been unbelievable for the Dodgers so far this season. I was surprised to see the total for this game moving up to o/u 10 with him on the mound for LAD, but that high total on the move tells me there will be runs in this game. Considering the Dodgers are 3-7 in their last 10 games and are laying (-210) on the moneyline, it doesn’t look like the runs are going to be coming against Paxton or the Dodgers in this contest…

Just like we saw on Sunday, I’m expecting another offensive outburst for the Dodgers at Nats Park tonight. Patrick Corbin’s pitching outs prop is set at o/u 15.5 after soaring over this number in his last three starts, including his most recent outing against the Dodgers. After recording 18 outs, his pitching outs prop for tonight got bumped down to 15.5 against the same team he just faced? That’s not a great sign for Corbin tonight…

I don’t think we’ll see Corbin out there on the mound in the 5th inning, let alone pitching into the 6th inning. Fade Corbin against the same team he just faced, and bet him to record less than 15.5 outs on Tuesday night. I’ll meet you at the cash counter after he gets pulled early in this one…
