Welcome back to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. The hit parlays have been a little rocky. Yesterday, another 1 for 2 day. Trea Turner came through but Bryan Reynolds went 0 for 2 with two walks. We need a winner today, and I believe what we cooked up below is just that!
TUESDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: TREA TURNER (PHI) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of this hit parlay is: Trea Turner. This guy continues to deliver. Even in a game he started 0-4 yesterday, he still came through for us when we needed him most. Let's run it back. Here's why:
Trea has a hit in 11 straight games. His season batting average is steady at .340. Today, Trea faces off against the lefty Andrew Abbott. Trea is seeing lefties really well this year. He has a .368 batting average against lefties this season. Turner bats in the two spot and on the road he will have plenty of chances for a hit with nine innings of at-bats like he did yesterday.
LEG 2: CODY BELLINGER (CHC) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of this hit parlay is: Cody Bellinger. Bellinger and the Cubs face the Astros in Wrigley today. This game has the same total as Coors Field...makes me think the wind is blowing out and there's going to be a lot of plate appearances for each team.
Bellinger is swinging a hot bat with a hit in seven straight games, batting .333 over that timespan. At home, he’s hitting .278 this season. Bellinger faces the righty JP France today. Against lefties, France is allowing a .313 batting average this season. After a slow start to the year for Cody, he's seeing the ball well. All we need is one. Get it done for us today, Cody!
