Welcome to the daily hit parlay, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We've now cashed two straight hit parlays to kick off the week. Today, we aim for a third straight. We need to start May off strong. This parlay below might seem familiar.
WEDNESDAY'S HIT PARLAY
LEG 1: ALEC BOHM (PHI) TO RECORD A HIT
Our first leg of the hit parlay: Alec Bohm. Yes, Alec is back for more. Bohm and the Phillies face off against the Angels today. Alec Bohm is scorching hot. He is still one of the best hitters in baseball right now with a hit in 14 straight.
His season batting average is raised to .366. Bohm faces off against the lefty Patrick Sandoval today. Bohm is hitting .375 against lefties and is seeing the ball well. Bohm bats in the four spot and should see plenty of chances since the Phillies are the road team and are guaranteed nine innings of at-bats.
We have to keep rolling with Bohm. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
LEG 2: SHOHEI OHTANI (LAD) TO RECORD A HIT
Our second leg of the hit parlay: Shohei Ohtani. Yes, Ohtani is back for more. Although, if you want another guy we considered, that would be Ozzie Albies...but today, we roll with Ohtani. Yesterday, he got his hit in his first AB, before striking out three times in his final four plate appearances. All that to say...he's DUE!
Ohtani is supposed to face off against Jordan Montgomery. Ohtani is 2 for 6 lifetime against Montgomery, hitting .333. Last year, Montgomery gave up a much higher batting average to lefties, than righties too, which works for me. Montgomery was scratched yesterday because of the bee hive (lol). If he pitches today, awesome. If it's Gallen, that's fine with me too. Ohtani will get his.
Ohtani and Bohm are too good for us to go away from them today. We will stop betting this when (1) they hurt us or (2) they make this parlay -200.
