The Houston Astros finish up a series in New York tonight as they face the Yankees on the verge of being swept by them for the second time already this season. The Yankees are leading the head-to-head series 6–0 this season and have been playing great baseball lately. They are -130 favorites tonight against the Astros to finish off the sweep.

HOUSTON ASTROS VS. NEW YORK YANKEES PREDICTION
On the mound for the Astros today will be Ronel Blanco. Blanco has effectively been the Astros ace to start this season, as he is sporting a 2.09 ERA over his first six starts. Blanco started his season with a no-hitter against the Jays and has followed that up with some tremendous performances, as he has pitched a quality start in five of his six total outings. He has only given up more than two earned, runs in one start, which was his last start. He has never seen the Yankees before, which should give him a little bit of an advantage today. The Astros have really been struggling this season, as they are in last place in the AL West with a record of 12–24. However, it is not because of their offense. Kyle Tucker and the Astros are sixth overall in batting average this season and seventh in OPS. It is their pitching that has befuddled them, which will hopefully be remedied today by Blanco. Blanco is the only Astros pitcher who does not have a loss in his decision column so far this season, as he is 3–0.
Starting for the Yankees today will be Marcus Stroman. Stroman has had a strong start to the season, sporting a 3.41 ERA. However, he has been tagged in a few of his starts, as he gave up four earned runs to the Marlins and four earned runs to the Brewers. Stroman has pitched very well in half of his starts this year, but the key for him will be remaining consistent across all his starts. I really like the Astros to avoid the sweep here today with Blanco on the mound. The way he has been pitching and the way he has been dotting his pitches has made him the more consistent starter than Marcus Stroman to me. The Astros already have a great offense, and with Blanco on the mound, they should get their first win against the Yankees this season tonight. Take the Astros at plus money to avoid the sweep and get back on track.
