Jorge Lopez has since been released from the Mets following his little outburst. Most people wouldn’t want to bet on the Mets after how last night went down, and considering they have the worst record in baseball over the last month. Personally, I think we have an angle here backing the Mets after last night’s embarrassing loss.
If I was a player on the Mets, I would certainly show up more motivated to play on Thursday after Lopez’ comments/actions last night. When we’re looking at the slate, we forget to “handicap” the human aspects of sports. Every baseball fan was making fun of and trash-talking the Mets after Lopez’ outbreak yesterday. Tonight, they shock the world and steal a win from Arizona, defeating Zac Gallen and the snakes…
On paper, the Diamondbacks look like the easiest play on the board Thursday night. They have their ace on the bump and the Mets have lost 8 of their last 10 games. If betting was that easy, the sportsbooks would already be out of business and sports betting would be the most-profitable hobby on the planet. Unfortunately (for most), it’s not.
The Mets are the nastiest side on the MLB slate tonight. Their betting splits are sharp and they do have an underrated starting pitcher on the mound.
