I absolutely love the value on Josh Rojas to steal a base today against Spencer Arrighetti and the Houston Astros. The matchup is a great one for the Mariners who have been extremely aggressive on the base paths as of late and against the Astros the last few seasons.

Houston has allowed the third most stolen bases this season in road games this season and against the Seattle Mariners have allowed a stolen base in 12 of the last 14 matchups with 2+ in seven of those 14 games. In the last six games, we have seen the Mariners go for one, one, three, two, zero, and two stolen bases with one stolen base attempt being unsuccessful.

Spencer Arrighetti is a great target for stolen bases as he is way above average with a .133 stolen base to innings pitched rate. He also has a high walk rate this season, especially to left-handed batters. He ranks in the 20th percentile in walks allowed in 2024.

Josh Rojas has been getting on base lately, especially against the Astros. He already has a stolen base in this series and dating back to last season, has five stolen bases in the last nine matchups against the Astros. His on base percentage is great against right-handed pitching at .361 and is hitting second today which likely means he sees an extra plate appearance compared to what he usually sees.
