This one is simple, a tie after five innings is a push, a lead is a win and trailing is a loss. The Rangers are favorites today and are looking to avoid being swept. My hometown Tigers are now a game over .500 but I don’t expect the celebration to last long.

Detroit Tigers vs. Texas Rangers Prediction

The main reason for this is that Kenta Maeda is on the bump today. Maeda has been batting practice this year, he has a 10.80 road ERA and has been hanging a lot of pitches. He doesn’t throw particularly hard and the Rangers have studs like Corey Seager and Marcus Semien who should absolutely make him pay. The Rangers' bats are 21-65 against Kenta lifetime which is good for a .323 average.

On the bump for them today is Jose Urena, who has wild home and away splits. At home, where he pitches tonight, he has an impressive 1.35 ERA over 20 innings. I think Detroit will be happy winning the series regardless of this outcome and Texas is going to want it more tonight. I'm fading my hometown team again and I hope they don't turn into an All Star team again, let's roll!
