Sunday night baseball tonight features a potential World Series preview, as the Dodgers and Yankees meet at Yankee Stadium to close out a three-game series. The Dodgers have been in control and are in a position to sweep with a win tonight, as they took game one by a score of 2-1 and took game two by a score of 11–3. The Yankees offense has been held in check by the Dodgers pitching, which I expect to continue tonight with Tyler Glasnow on the mound.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Yankees Prediction
Tyler Glasnow gets to start for the Dodgers tonight and has been one of the best pitchers in their rotation. He sports a 6–4 record, has a 2.93 ERA, and is leading all of baseball with 104 strikeouts. Glasnow is third in baseball with 11.7 K/9. He is striking out batters in a ridiculous 33.5% of play appearances. What helps with the strikeout numbers is that he has also kept his walks very low. He only has a 7.4% walk rate, which has kept his WHIP at .9, which is third in the MLB and keeps his pitch count low. His underlying metrics are also excellent. He’s only giving up a .249 expected weighted on-base average and a .192 expected batting average. For a Yankees team that has struggled out of the gate in this series, this is a matchup that will heavily flavor Tyler Glasnow. On the season, the Yankees are one of the lowest strikeout teams against right-handed pitching, however, over the last two weeks, they’ve been a bit more human with a 22.4% strikeout rate against right handed pitching. Glasnow has also had much success against the Yankees in his appearances against them. He’s allowing just a .194 average in 103 at-bats against the Yankees hitters and a .563 OPS. He has 29 strikeouts in 111 plate appearances against the Yankees for a 26% strikeout rate.
The Yankees are sputtering and have given up high strikeout games to the Dodgers starters over the first two games of the series. Gavin Stone had six strikeouts yesterday in 5.2 innings, and he is not regarded as much of a strikeout pitcher. In game one, Yoshinobu Yamamoto had seven strikeouts. That gives me all the confidence I need to pull the trigger on Tyler Glasnow over 7.5 strikeouts tonight at plus money. It is a high line, but for the MLB strikeout leader against a lineup that has not produced offense in the series, I think he can hit tonight.
